FAQs

Neuroplasticity is the scientific term used to describe the miraculous wonder of the brain and its ability to adapt and learn new things.  A tailored, evidence-based program involving frequent repetition and growing confidence can lead to amazing results, despite apparent hurdles associated with disability.

Anyone can refer to a speech pathologist. You don’t need a GP or other professional’s letter before you contact us. Contact us today for a free consultation to answer some of your questions!

While speech difficulties can be somewhat easy to recognise by others, literacy and language difficulties can sometimes go unnoticed, even at school. When in doubt, it is always best to discuss your questions with a professional who can provide further assessment to determine any issues present. Regret over time lost is not worth the wait. Early intervention is powerful. Your child’s wellbeing is worth the due diligence.

Speech pathologists work in many areas of communication, such as stuttering, voice and even swallowing! Speech pathologists will tend to focus on a few areas only to maintain quality of practice. Literacy (written communication) and Language are two areas speech pathologists may address.

Speech and sound-processing (phonological) skills are key components of literacy, since printed words correspond to the sounds we use in speech. Therefore, trained speech pathologists are the sought-after professional for addressing problems in literacy and language.

The price of your child’s mental and emotional wellbeing for learning is priceless. Session prices are inclusive of preparation, communications and planning. Funding can be made available for some, so it’s worth the effort to find out your options if money is a concern. A free consultation and quote are available upon request.

While we focus on telepractice as our primary method of service, we may offer face-to-face consulting in the initial stages. Call us to discuss your unique location and situation.

You will need a secure internet connection of wifi for online services. If that’s not the case at home, other community spaces such as a school or library may be able to provide what you need.

There are several ways to connect online in a private environment. If you are without laptop (ideal) or desktop computer, ipads or other tablets may be used. Reach out to learn more.
